THE BAR METHOD

FEATURED BUSINESS

For two decades, The Bar Method has been building stronger bodies with challenging barre workouts that infuse power into every movement. Each exercise is meticulously designed to transform your body through high-repetition, low-impact resistance training. With elements of Pilates, yoga and other strength training workouts fused into a barre workout, you will build flexibility, total-body definition, and metabolism-boosting endurance that lasts long after class.

Not just another barre workout, The Bar Method is strategically designed to elevate your heart rate, strengthen each muscle group in the body in every class, and increase mental and physical endurance. The exercises apply a scientific approach to maximize muscle burn with minimal joint impact by keeping the work in the muscle, using small-in-range, controlled movements, followed by elongating stretches. Your instructor will coach you supportively through each section of class, creating a personal training experience within a high-energy group fitness environment. Each class is taught using the beat of the music for a fun, invigorating, and challenging session that leaves you craving your next trip to the barre.

I am the first to admit that trying a new group class can be really intimidating. I was terrified to try my first class. I soon found out that The Bar Method is truly for every body. While I expected to stick out like a sore thumb, I instead felt welcomed, supported, and even the smallest of my wins was cheered on. I had never experienced such a challenging workout that also felt attainable because of the way the instructors coached me through each move, and provided modifications if needed. I also was able to heal injuries from other workouts because of the emphasis on joint safety plus sustainable strength building design. It truly is a workout for life.

It feels so good to be working out in person at the studio. Last year really taught us how important working out together is not only for our physical well being, but mentally - perhaps even more so. Yes, even in masks! The nature of our workout makes exercising in a mask very doable, plus everyone feels safe. It's been thrilling to see familiar faces return, and new ones come to try us out. Resoundingly we've heard that this pandemic has created so much isolation and loneliness, and finding our studio has been a true lifesaver.

In the new year, we introduced a new piece of equipment to our lineup of props: The Slider. We love the new level of burn it brings to our existing exercises, as well as many new moves. We're continually innovating at The Bar Method, so the workout keeps your body guessing and progressing. It also happens to be a lot of fun to try new things and feel your muscles in an all new way.
