Kerry Yu: Slow Fashion
Fashion Feature

By Kerry Yu, Fashion Consultant
As the world becomes inundated with the waste of fast fashion, let us turn our attention to the
artistry of slow fashion–a true reflection of culture and art.
It is all too easy to dispose of things. It’s in our human nature. But the pieces we truly cherish in fashion are the ones that took time to create–the ones that are as unique as they are stunning; the ones that turn heads on the streets.
I am fortunate enough to own a few pieces of true artistry–each one lovingly crafted over months of design and labor. They’re expensive, to be sure, but we take care of them as one would any precious work of art. And the thought of tossing them aside is unthinkable. In fact, we often hold onto them, even turning down lucrative offers to sell, simply because they’re too beautiful to part with.
Let’s take a moment to appreciate the stunning designs of Vietnamese designers Huy and Hai Long, the creative force behind the brand Hulos Prive. Their brand has taken the fashion world by storm with their unique blend of Vietnamese culture and contemporary fashion.
The Hulos Prive Collection is a true testament to their talent and creativity. Their designs embody a perfect balance of sophistication and edginess. Every piece is carefully crafted with attention to detail, using only the finest fabrics and materials.
Huy and Hai Long are undoubtedly two of the most exciting designers to emerge from Vietnam in recent years. It was an honor to work with them and feature their designs in New York Fashion Week with my fashion production team. I’m also proud to say that I own one of their beautiful designs and I cherish it as a one-of-a-kind work of art.
I cannot wait to see what they have in store for this season in New York, and I’m excited to be a part of their journey.
So, when you have the chance, collect some one-of-a-kind pieces for your closet. And don’t be afraid to show them off–it’ll make you feel good and inspire others to embrace the beauty of fashion that’s built to last.
